Cynthia Garthright Obituary

Cynthia Jo Garthright, 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was born on September 12, 1959 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late, Herman and Mary Warren. She loved horses and was involved with 4-H for rescue horses. She worked at Maryview Hospital in pathology for 40 years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Claude Garthright, Jr.; son, Jason Dunkley; two brothers, Richard Warren and Gary Warren (Valerie); mother-in-law, Jeanette Langdale; sisters-in-law, Becky Richburg (Terry) and Debbie Brown; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1PM Monday November 1, 2021 at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday October 31, 2021 from 5 - 6:30 PM at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd Chapel.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jo was a colleague and friend. You could always see a smile on her face or hear a laugh in her voice on the phone even under the most stressful circumstances. She always went out of her way to accommodate others needs.
Great sense of humor and wit.

She will be missed.
