I met Dale through Terri Foss, Gardens and Grounds Director at thee Hermitage Museum while I was the volunteer Gardens and Grounds Chair. Dale was kind, humble, and extremely knowledgable in his field. It was a delight to have him at our committee meetings as we were in the early stages of restoring the property. He was thorough and efficient. He quietly taught the committee members how to have those qualities so that we would be good stewards of the property. He stayed until the grounds were mostly completed and his plans for future projects were left with us. His kindness and patience made it a pleasure to be in his company. He was a true gentleman.

Dale was my Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) when I joined my first squadron (HS-6) right out of flight training in 1967. He worked diligently during our 1967/8 deployment to impart his experience and knowledge to me. Under his guidance I was was ready to be a HAC by the time I deployed for the second time in 1969.

Thank you Dale,
