David Hummel Obituary
Virginia Beach - David M. Hummel, age 79, died Wednesday evening in his home in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach. He was born in Phoenix Arizona, Nov 9 1936 to George and Marcella Hummel, one of six children. He was married to Arnora Hummel for over 50 years living in Phoenix, Cincinnati, Connecticut, and finally settling in Virginia Beach in 1981.
Together Dave and Arnora raised four children, Ronora, Robielle, David, and Andrew. Throughout their lives, Dave and Arnora also opened their home to many others that needed a family. After serving in the US Navy for two years, Dave graduated from the University of Arizona and started his career in broadcasting and marketing at KPHO, a CBS affiliate, and later was recruited by Procter & Gamble, The Christian Broadcasting Network, and Lesea Broadcasting Company. Dave was a man of great faith in Jesus, serving Christian ministries for over 40 years, traveling around the world. Dave also worked in politics and served as the Chairman of the 2nd district for the Republican party for many years in the 1990's, being an instrumental architect for the Republicans winning races in precincts that had, until then, been unwinnable. Dave was a man known for his loyalty and dedication to his God, his family, and his friends. A celebration service of Dave's life will be held 10:00 am, Thursday September 29th at Wave Church, 1000 N. Great Neck Rd in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the non-profit company Masterworks, a Christian dance ministry founded by Dave and Arnora over 20 years ago. David was a gifted and creative marketer with vast experience in broadcasting. He had a thoroughly Christian worldview and walked the walk of a committed follower of Jesus Christ. I counted him a pro of pros but also a brother in Christ. Heaven will be better place with David there!

Arnora, sons/daughters of David, relatives, and Academie family, our hearts go out to you as we all grieve the loss of Mr. Hummel in this life, while celebrating his graduation into his Eternal Reward with Jesus, our Savior. Were it possible for Daniel and me to come, we most certainly would have, but the EMT program here is unforgiving. Our only consolation is that we are with you in Spirit, having prayed faithfully for you all during this challenging time. May God wrap His unending arms around you and give you the peace only the Prince of Peace can give. Please accept our cyber hugs. We shall all be together forever very soon!

I loved Dave with all my heart, the life he provided for my sister was beautiful and blessed
We had many memorable times together as we traveled all over the US on our special vacations
There are so many great memories
I will never forget him and what he stood, he was truly a man of God
