David Sawyer Obituary

David Franklin Sawyer
Chesapeake - David Franklin Sawyer, 48, passed away on March 12, 2013 in Davie, FL, where he last resided. He was a longtime native of Chesapeake and a graduate of Great Bridge High School. He is the son of Ruby Lee Sawyer and the late Leslie Sawyer Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his four brothers, Robert N. Sawyer of Chesapeake, Ronald L. Sawyer of Norfolk, Leslie Sawyer Jr. of Hendersonville, NC., and Timothy A. Sawyer of Suffolk, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Indian Creek Baptist Church, 1221 Indian Creek Road, Chesapeake, VA, 23322, where David attended, with Rev and friend Joseph Amory presiding.
Dave was passionate about riding his motorcycle, the Lauderdale Lakes Moose Lodge 2267 and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Along with fellow ""Moose Riders"" and others David was instrumental in raising significant contributions through organized rides for the Foundation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at curethekids.org.
