Deloris Stephens Obituary
Norfolk - 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 20th. She died in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Born in Pie, WV, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Nannie Mae Ball.
Deloris' passion was caring for children, and sharing the love of Christ with others. As her illness began to progress and keep her from church, her biggest concern was her Sunday School class and getting someone to teach the kids.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James L. Stephens, Jr., her children Dorothy Walker, Ginny Eisenbath and David, Sam Stephens and Lisa, Daniel Stephens and Hila, Mary Ann McLendon and Tim. Grandchildren include Brittany Walker, Dalton and Lauren Eisenbath, Emily and Rachel McLendon, Sammy Stephens, and Cameron and Connor Powell; siblings, Billie Spangler, Nancy Moore, and David Ball and Linda, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Free Will Baptist Church in Norfolk.
Special thanks to the hospice nurses, especially Monica Hi Burns, for their care. Also, Aunt Nancy for everything she has done.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, 6/23 from 6-9 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 6329 E. Va. Beach Blvd. in Norfolk with a funeral service at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church on Friday, 6/24 at 1 pm at 2430 Azalea Garden Rd. in Norfolk.
