Donald Alford Obituary

Donald G. Alford Jr. VIRGIINIA BEACH - Donald Glenn Alford Jr., 58, of the 5800 block of Glenview Drive, went to be with the Lord Jan. 15, 2009. A native of Knoxville, Tenn., he was the son of Mrs. Lillian F. Alford of Aliquippa, Pa., and the late Donald G. Alford Sr. He was a truck driver for D.D. Jones and retired from the U.S. Navy with 21 years of service and a member of Calvary Temple Church. An avid motorcyclist, he was a member of the Star Touring and Riding Association, Virginia Beach Chapter 188. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandra H. Alford; two sons, Nick Alford of Virginia Beach and Leonard Milbourn of Exmore, Va.; two sisters, Debbie Sawinski and her husband Joe of Aliquippa and Sherry Holcomb and her husband Mike of Ostrander, Ohio; and a brother, Bill Alford and his wife Linda of Pickerington, Ohio. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Temple Church, 5639 Brickell Road, Norfolk, with Pastor Lamar Sentell and Pastor Chris Amos officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel.
