Doris Green Obituary
Portsmouth - Doris S. Green, 88 of Peach Street passed in her residence July 25, 2015. She was born in Portsmouth, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years David L.
Green, Sr., two daughters Vallarie Blizzard and Pamela Davenport. She worked as a nurse for 30 years at the Naval Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Fourth Baptist Church where she was honored for being an eighty year member of the church. She served as a missionary and in several other capacities in her long membership at the church. She was past matron of Brighton Light Chapter #118 Order of Eastern Star.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son David L. Green, Jr. (Mary), a sister, Mary Mouran, (6) grandchildren, Davidah Green Jones (Michael), Melvin Green, David L. Green, III, Marcus Green, Felicia Davenport, Danielle Green, (4) great grandchildren, a step daughter, Gwendolyn Hardy, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Friday, July 31, 2015 12 Noon Fourth Baptist Church, by Rev. Charles Beamon. The burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, VA. Viewing will begin at 11-7p.m. Thursday. The body will be placed in church at 11:00 a.m. Friday. Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham Street, Portsmouth, VA.
