Doris Tobin
Virginia Beach - Virginia Beach - Doris Annabelle Tobin passed away September 8, 2012 at Clare Bridge. She was the daughter of the late Richard Hodges and Marguerite Loud of Brooklyn, New York. Doris, known as Doe to friends and family, was predeceased by her husband of forty-nine years, Stephen Francis Tobin.

Doris was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1922 and moved to Lynchburg, VA with husband, Steve, after his service in the Air Force during World War II. They started their family in Lynchburg and later moved to Virginia Beach in 1956 where they remained throughout their lives. Doe was a fashion model in her late teens and as an adult worked for the Naval Supply Center in Little Creek before joining an interior decorating firm. She chaired the curriculum committee for ODU's ILR (Institute for Learning in Retirement), was an avid gardener, bridge enthusiast and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Caroline Morrison and her husband Bob of Reston, VA, Stephen F. Tobin and his wife Carrie of Virginia Beach, VA and Patricia Cappetta and her husband Les of Leesburg, VA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Bonnie Morrison of Reston, VA; Megan Morrison and her husband Ronny Eisemann of NYC, NY; Katie Morrison and her fiancé Tom Kiritsis of Philadelphia, PA; Andrew and Matthew Cappetta of Leesburg, VA; Christopher Cappetta of Gunnison, CO; and Stephen and Madison Tobin of Virginia Beach and cousins Bill Tracy and wife Eleanor of Brunswick, ME and George Tracy and wife Terry of Beaufort, SC.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Old Donation Episcopal Church with Rev. Robert Randall officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the South Eastern Virginia chapter of the Alzheimer's Association (http://www.alz.org/seva/).

Sorry to hear about Ms Tobin's passing. I met Ms Tobin during the time I worked for Clare Bridge and it was a pleasure. She had such a warm and beautiful smile. We shared some of the fondest memories. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of that.
