Elizabeth Pacilio Obituary

Elizabeth B. Pacilio (Betty) passed away on July 17, 2021 at Marion Manor Assisted Living Facility where she lived for the past 2 ½ years.

Betty was born on November 27, 1926 in Edinburgh Scotland and immigrated to the United States when she was 4 years old. Her family settled in Newport, RI where she was raised. Elizabeth attended the Newport Rhode Island School of Nursing, graduating with her RN in 1944. It was there she met Capt. Jerry A. Pacilio, Sr. whom she married on July 23, 1949.

Betty & Jerry raised their children in Norfolk, VA where they were active in their church and community. In 1974 they moved to Virginia Beach where they lived throughout their retirement years. During her career Betty worked as an RN, then as a teacher at St. Pius X Elementary School, and then as the Employee Health Nurse at Norfolk General Hospital, retiring in 1984.

Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, her parents Abraham and Margaret Frankenberg, brothers; Albert, Raymond and Leonard Frankenberg, and sisters; Dorothy Hull and Helen Andrews.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Jerry A. Pacilio, Jr. (Patricia), Betsy McCarthy (the late Mickey McCarthy), Beth Nye (Hunter), her brother Ernest Frankenberg and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Marian Manor and Westminster Canterbury at Home Hospice Services for all of their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, you may send contributions to Marian Manor 5345 Marian Lane, Virginia Beach, Va 23462. Online condolences may be offered to the family at hdoliver.com.
