Elizabeth Wood
Elizabeth Ann Wood VIRGINIA BEACH - Elizabeth Ann Wood went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2009, with family and loved ones by her side. She was born in Detroit with her twin sister, Janet, to James and Virginia Maynes on June 2, 1930. She was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach, an active civic volunteer with the Ocean Park Civic League, Girl Scout leader, 4-H assistant, and Sunday school teacher for Old Donation Episcopal Church. Mrs. Wood was a loving and lovely wife to Ethan Wood, dedicated mother to Deborah, Terry, Michael, Mark and godmother to David. She was a doting grandmother and great- grandmother who patiently did crafts, sewing and cooking with them! A role model to all young girls and women as a strong, independent working mother before the 1970s, she taught us about unconditional love, non-judgment, and that God is love. She is in heaven with her husband, Ethan; daughter, Terry; sister, Janet and her parents. We know that she is an angel in heaven, because she was one here one Earth. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ocean Park Volunteer Rescue Squad. Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.
