Ervin Cuffee Obituary
He was a native of Norfolk County (Chesapeake, VA) and a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church where he served as a Steward, a Trustee and a member of the Men's Committee. He joined the United States Army in 1959 and after his brief tour, he became an Aircraft Mechanic at Norfolk Naval Air Station for 31 years. Upon retirement, he dedicated 15 years to the Portsmouth Public Schools as a custodian.
Ervin is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Bessie Cuffee; two sons, Irvin "Tony" Cuffee and Reginald "Don" Cuffee (Claudine); two daughters, Margaret Maxwell (Tracy) and Emily Cuffee. Ervin along with his wife also raised their two grandchildren Deaundrae Cuffee and Aarren Ivey.
A life celebration service will be held 1 pm Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church in Chesapeake, VA. J. T. Fisher Funeral Services is handling the final care arrangements.

Some folks is seen in your mind at different times, especially during times of celebrations. Ervin will always be one of those folks. We can all just smile with him during those times.

My condolences to the family. Whenever I was around Ervin, that was a great day/night. He always made a person feel at ease, with his happy, go lucky smile. I was surprised when I was able to talk to him on Christmas Day, that smile was right there, and he really looked great. I will always remember Irvin as being a part of our community.
