Evelyn Joyner "June" Cotsimopoulos

1933 - 2021

PORTSMOUTH- June Cotsimopoulos, 87, began her heavenly journey on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Isle of Wight County, VA, born on June 30, 1933 to the late Constantine and Fannie Cones Joyner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry G. Cotsimopoulos; sister, Luverta Gumkowski; and brother, Eldridge Joyner. June was a graduate of Ferrum College, member of West Park Church of Christ, member of the Collinswood Garden Club, past business owner, and was active in the PTA during her children's school years.

She is survived by her brother, John S. Joyner; four children, George Cotsimopoulos (Denise), Cathy Wallace (Mike), Andrew Cotsimopoulos (Cheryl) and Lucy Cotsimopoulos; and four grandchildren, Lisa C. Parcell, Lena Wallace, John Wallace and Joseph Cotsimopoulos.

A funeral service will be held, 1 PM, Thursday, May 20, 2021 at West Park Church of Christ in Portsmouth, VA. There will be a private entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel on Wednesday from 6-7 PM. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. www.SturtevantFH.com
