Harold Pearce Obituary


Harold W. Pearce CHESAPEAKE - Harold Wayne Pearce, 73, passed away Nov. 19, 2008. He was born in Pinetown, N.C., Jan. 12, 1935 to Wilton and Blanche Pearce. Wayne graduated in 1953 from Norview High School. He served his country in U.S. Army, and later retired from a career as a building contractor and a real estate broker. Wayne attended Hyde Park Free Will Baptist Church. He loved being outdoors, especially summers spent with his grandfather on the farm. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Blanche of Norfolk; wife of 51 years, Diane of Chesapeake; daughters, Robin and her husband Randy of Summerville, S.C., and Dawn of Chesapeake; sons, Harold and his wife Pam of Moyock, and Michael of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Rachel, Paige, Alex and Dylan; sister, Jane O'Connor of Norfolk; brother, Wilton "Tony" and his wife Shirley of Chuckatuck; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Terry Beck with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Hope Haven Children's Home. Please visit Wayne's memorial at www.mem.com.
