Inez Patricia Freeman

Inez Patricia "Pat" Freeman passed away July 18th. She was born in Baltimore, MD to John Kenneth "Ken" Jones, author and newspaper correspondent, and Mildred Krebs Jones, career Census Bureau employee. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Frank Williamson "Mike" Freeman, her parents, and only sibling, sister, Constance Wells. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Stakes (Jim), and step grandchildren, Christy Pigeon (Dana) and Jeff Stakes (Chris); step-great grandchildren, Patrick Rhodes, Deborah Madden (Dave), Nicholas Crodick, and Matthew Crodick; step-great-great grandchildren, Bridget Rhodes, Bradley Rhodes, Camden Ruggles, Harper Madden, and Kevin Crodick - all of whom she loved dearly; niece Donna Fisher (Terry) and nephew Bob Grant (Dianne). Pat retired from a government civil service career with the Naval Research Lab in Washington, DC., where she was Administrative Assistant to the Director. She also was a co-owner with her husband of American Water Sports, Inc. She loved the many expeditions that scuba diving took them on from sacrificial well exploration in Chichen Itza, to gold diving in Honduras, to ocean wreck exploring. She never wanted to be left behind. After her husband's death, she moved to Point Elizabeth Townhomes, bought a home in Nettle's Island, Florida, to become a "snow bird", and subsequently moved to Lake Prince Woods where she enjoyed the camaraderie of the community and Main Street United Methodist Church. A visitation and viewing for the Lake Prince Woods' community will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 from 4-5 pm, followed by a visitation and viewing for family from 6-7 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr, Suffolk, VA. Burial will be in Waldorf, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your favorite charity or to United Church Homes & Services Foundation, www.uchas.org/foundation. Her family would like to thank all the staff in every area of Lake Prince Woods for all the love, kindness, and support they have provided her through all the years and especially at the end of her life.
