James "Terry" Rice

James Rice CHESAPEAKE - James "Terry" Rice, 63, passed away April 18, 2008. Mr. Rice was the son of the late Jim and Evangeline Rice and was a former resident of Roanoke, Va., and had lived in Chesapeake for the past 19 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was employed with CMC Rebar Virginia, formerly Hall-Hodges, as a sales estimator. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Nancy Mitchell Rice; his four children, Chad Rice and his wife Kellie, Amy Jessee and her husband Rob, Clay Rice and his wife Lisa, all of Roanoke and Sam Rice and his wife Sarah of Chesapeake; one brother, Tom Rice and his wife Jackie of Havelock, N.C.; a sister, Faye Arthur and her husband Michael of Richmond; and 10 grandchildren, Ethan, Nathan, and Hayden Rice, Canyon, Madison, Karson, Gunnar and Emmerson Jessee and Tanner and Halley Rice. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Chesapeake Chapel. A funeral will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 412 Scarborough Drive, Chesapeake, Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Blueridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, Va., at a later date.
