Maryann, I am so sorry to hear of Jays departure for eternal patrol . We made at least 5 patrols together aboard the U.S.S. Sam Houston SSBN 609 . He was a fun guy and good spirit. I still remember him telling me about this wonderful girl he had met from Hartford who was going to Quinapiac college, of course we know who that was. RIP shipmate !

Jay was known as a loving husband and father. But for us in his navy family, we saw his steady calm nature lead many young chiefs to become better leaders and family men. You touched many and made a difference.
