Jeanette Wilson Obituary

Jeanette M. Wilson VIRGINIA BEACH - Jeanette M. "Jean" Wilson of the 1000 block of Tradewinds Road died July 3, 2009. Born in Princess Anne County, now Virginia Beach, she was employed as a nurse for Norfolk Community Hospital; she retired after more than 30 years of service. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Union Baptist Church and a part of various ministries. She was also a member of Eastern Star PHA and the Garden of Sheaves Tent. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington Nurse Training School. The widow of Elmore Wilson, she is survived by a son, Reginald L. Riddick (Flora); one brother-in-law, Collis Wilson; four stepsisters, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Tenesha McCray and Lisa Cuffee; three stepgrandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother, Marie Lamb; father, Lenny Holloway; and a brother, Garland Holloway. The funeral will be held Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m. in Union Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Dr. Thomasina Reid. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Garden. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk, is in charge.
