Oh my word! I just stumbled across this and could not believe it. Judy and I were next door neighbors in 1969/70 at Virginia Beach. We had many good times together, one very fun time was going to the Oyster Bowl Nov 15, 1969. She was a super gal back then and so glad to hear she had a wonderful career. When I left the Navy in 1970 we saw each other a couple of times and then time happened. Many times I have wondered about her. May she be at peace from the MS.

Judy was a long time neighbor. Dealing with her MS sometimes was hard for her so if she needed help with something she would call over to my house and either my husband, daughters or grandson would help her it. It could be something as little as taking in her mail or doing her trash cans. Helping with her TV, or cleaning in her kitchen or garage. Someone was always willing to help her. Many years ago she told my daughter , who was a high school senior at the time, about a scholarship she was in charge of . My daughter wrote the essay and submitted it, she was then granted a small scholarship to be used towards her college education. Judy will never be forgotten.

Judi and I were dorm mates at Duke, housemates in Virginis Beach when we first were teachers, and dear friends for decades. She was one if the brightest, most talented people I have ever known. MS was not kind to her, though she fought it for many years. I pray she is at peace. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Judi and I became friends when her family moved to West Caldwell, NJ. We were in 2nd grade. Friends though the years but not always in touch, some how are paths brought us back together. I met her in NY at the Manhattan Club on one of her trips north and we saw Godspell together. She came out to West Caldwell and we toured all the places she remembered and wanted to revisit. My husband, Tom and I met she and her friend, Jim in Falmouth on The Cape at her timeshare and spent a beautiful October day together. Phone calls now and then kept us in touch and they were always warm and so welcome. When my, granddaughter was born in 2010 she sent me some money to purchase a small tree for her and my brother, Jim's first granddaughter. They are planted at his farm property in Union Dale, PA. The 2 oaks are quite tall and strong now, a testament to the strength of the woman who gave the gift. They have also been joined by two other oaks for the other grandchildren who came along. I plan to see that one more tree is added to the others as a tribute to an amazing woman and friend. Love you, Judi.

Judi was a colleague, a supervisor, a mentor and a friend. I was privileged to work with her for many years in the VBPS. Her sense of humor and depth of knowledge were apparent in everything she did. She will be missed.

I wish the family of Ms. Brennan my condolences. I had the good fortune to be taught by her in 1976 while a senior at what is now Norfolk Collegiate School. She took our government class to Washington D. C. where we met with Justice Brennan, watched a Supreme Court session and later met our congressional representative. It inspired me to major in, and obtained a degree in, Politics and Government. I am now retired, but I owned and led a successful national public relations firm. Ms. Brennan lit the spark that started me on that path. Throughout my career I worked with politicians, governments, important causes and associations. Without her having taught me and exposing me to the way our system of government works, I question whether I would have even followed that career. I am very thankful for having crossed her path and for having her as a teacher. She will be remember by me and, I am sure, by many other of her students.
