Katherine Schmidt Obituary

Katherine M. Schmidt VIRGINIA BEACH - Katherine M. Schmidt, 86, of Rosebriar Court, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 in her home. Katherine was born in Edenton, N.C., to the late Mary and William Davis. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Frederick Raymond Schmidt and a son, Ronald Schmidt. Katherine is survived by a daughter, Cathy Mae Martineau and husband Robert of Virginia Beach; a sister, Grace Weaver of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Jennifer Kirby of Virginia Beach, Daniel "Jason" Criswell of West Virginia, and Kasey "Logan" Schmidt of Virginia Beach; one great-grandchild, Jordan Criswell of Corapeake, N.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Chris Fosback officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
