Kenneth Harris Obituary

Kenneth Ray (Heavy) Harris, 86 peacefully passed away at his home in Virginia Beach on Monday, July 31, 2023.

He was the son of the late George A. Harris, Sr. and Mabel Capps Harris. He was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Ruby T. Harris. He was also predeceased in death by four of their children, Cheryl L. Bitterling (Larry), Melvin I. Harris, Gary A. Harris, and Edward R. Harris (Wendy) and five siblings, George A. Harris, Jr., Shirley Sawyer, Cecil Harris, Jean Allen, and Ronnie Harris

He is survived by a son Kenneth R. Harris (Pam), a sister Geraldine Mock and many grandchildren, Dwayne Harris (Lisa), Jeremy Henricks, Nathan Henricks (Lisa), Samantha DeGhetto (Josh), Ashley Robley, Nick Robley, Travis Harris (Alicia), Jake Harris (Cassie) and Ray Harris (Katelyn). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

He retired from the City of Virginia Beach Public Schools/Transportation Department. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 5, at 10:00 am at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 691 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. After the memorial service, there will be a private graveside service at Willowood Cemetery. PG Thomasson Funeral Services

Sorry I didn't see these when I first Sin in.
But just like to say Heavy was always so funny, he was always playing jokes on someone. I know u are at peace now that u are with your love one Ruby and u are happy to see the kids.
Will miss not seeing u when I came home to visit. Love and miss u.
