Lee Hammond Obituary
Peninsula - Lee Allen Hammond, age 71, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Born to Winton and Lorraine Hammond in Terre Haute, Indiana, Lee was a resident of Hampton for over 50 years. He graduated from Satellite High School in Satellite Beach, Florida. During the Vietnam War, Lee served in the Air Force and later on worked for Verizon for over 35 years. He was also Vice President and General Manager for J & F Communications. Lee is survived by his wife, Mary Hammond; his son, David Hammond and wife Karen; his brother, Larry Hammond; and his grandson, John Hammond. Lee had a infectious laugh. My memories of Lee are his teen years and he was smiling or laughing as he rushed off somewhere.

I just heard of Lee's passing. I hadn't seen him,since we were kids. As cousins, they would come visit Aunt Grace, and visit our farm. I'm sad that when Grandma Stricklett and Aunt Grace passed, we let the distance and years keep us apart. RIP Lee.
