Beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend

Leslie Allison Bruner 35 of Virginia Beach, VA passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family, friends, and loved ones. Born in Macon, GA she was the daughter of the late Paul W. Bruner Jr and Joan L. Bruner. A funny, loving, feisty, beautiful, dedicated, loyal, strong and fearless woman who loved and lived her life to the fullest. An avid traveler, artist, and lover of food she was adventurous, spontaneous, and never let anyone or anything hold her back.

She joined the Navy in November of 2001 and continued her military service until her passing. She was an active duty Chief Petty Officer and well respected within her career field. She completed multiple deployments in support of OEF and garnered prestige for her efforts in the global war on terrorism. A recipient of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and multiple other military awards and decorations.

Proceeded by her Father Paul W. Bruner Jr and Grandparent's John L. Brindle, Mary Virginia Brindle, Paul W. Bruner Sr and Arlene D. Bruner.

She is survived by her mother Joan L. Bruner, sister Jennifer M. Brookins, and niece Natalie A. Brookins. Uncle's; John Brindle, Carl Bruner, Mark Bruner, Milton Humphreys, Paul Humphreys, William Humphreys, and Tom Michaels. Aunt's; Darlene Stodtko, Judy Sarber, Shirley Harberkost. Cousin's; Kelsey, Sarah, Lara, Michael, Katherine, Luke, Amanda, Paulina, Petey, Tyler, Morgan, Jesse, Brenden, Allison, Matthew, Samantha, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Navy Seal Foundation and/or Care Coalition. Altmeyer Funeral is handling the arrangements.

It was such a privilege to have known Leslie the last few years. Smart, funny, brave and sassy are some of the words that come to mind when I think of her. A fighter and hero to the very end.
