Linda Blythe Obituary
Courtland - Linda Parham Blythe, 76, passed away on September 12. She was born in Capron on September 4, 1942. She graduated from Southampton High School, and was employed by Narricot Industries and Grayson and Emma's Garden Spot. Most will remember her for the many days she spent at the corner of Rt. 58 and Shady Brook Trail selling watermelons.
She had a double green thumb; everything she planted flourished. She was into recycling before recycling was in vogue. She loved yard sales, flea markets, thrift stores, and finding a bargain. Linda truly believed that one person's junk was another person's treasure. She loved to cook, bake and can, and shared this talent with all. Nothing could compare to her sweet potato pies, apple jacks, and pineapple cake; and no one will ever be able to duplicate her cornbread dressing, or pots of homemade soup.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Thomas and Elizabeth Lovegrove Parham; her siblings Betty, Louis and Russell Parham; half-siblings, Robert Lee and Thomas Parham, Nancy Moon and Hettie Murphy. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Blythe Darden (Ernest Wheeler), of Courtland, and grandchildren, Jason (Kelsie Foreman), Adam, and Brooklyn Darden, and great granddaughter, Ellie James Darden. She is also survived by her son, W. Christopher Blythe (Kim Hester), of Capron, and granddaughter, Alaina Blythe. Additional survivors are sisters, Barbara P. Bryant of Courtland and Judith P. Davis of Yorktown; sisters in law, Joyce W. Parham and Louise P. Collins; a long-time friend, Ann Forrest Pope, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following Linda's wishes, her body was donated to science. A remembrance gathering will be held on Sunday, September 23 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Capron Community Center.

To the families and friends of Linda Parham Blythe. Today, I just want to send my deepest condolences to the families. We all lose love ones in death and it's a very difficult time to deal with. Please allow God to strengthen you in your grief. He is a God of great comfort and peace.
Virginia will always be my home but now I live in Harrisburg Pa.
