Lorenzo Harvey Obituary
Portsmouth - Lorenzo T. Harvey, 83, of the 700 block of Hancock Avenue, departed this life on Saturday, August 9, 2014. He was born in Kyle, West Virginia on February 7, 1931. Lorenzo retired from the U. S. Navy with 20 years of service and as LGMT with the Department of Defense. He was a Deacon at New Olivet Baptist Church, Portsmouth where he served in numerous other capacities. He was also a member of the Sharon Association and the Fleet Reserve Unit 257.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dorothy M. Harvey, 5 daughters, 5 sons, 3 sisters, a brother and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be held on Friday, August 16, 2014 from 4 7 pm at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1248 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held at noon on Saturday at New Mount Olivet Baptist Church, 1000 County Street, Portsmouth with Pastor Milton R. Blount officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family has entrusted J. T. Fisher Funeral Services to handle the final care arrangements. Dear Dorothy and Family,
