Mabel E. Picot Johnson

Mable Picot-Johnson, of Atlanta, GA, departed this life on September 9, 2021. Mable was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1977. Mable leaves to cherish precious memories: her loving son, Michael J. Chatman, Jr. ; five grandchildren, Imani Chatman, Jordan Chatman, Micah Shepard, Natalia and Justice Chatman; great granddaughter, Nia Ranaè Harper; god-daughters, Tymeka Blick and Latora Cason; special daughters-in-law, Dale Owens Chatman and Wendy D. Chatman; brothers, Victor Picot, Forrest Picot, Gerome Powell and Lorenzo Barnes (Coreena); four sisters, Jacqueline Picot Griffey, Evelyn Picot Barr (Anthony), Gail Giles (Willie) and Debra Jean Futrell; nephews, Myron Picot, Marcos (Latasha), LaRon (Charity), Morris Jr. (Quasha), Breon Tae (Vickie), Lamont Smith, Nathaniel Pittman, Lorenzo Jr. and LoRon Barnes; nieces, Nichole Smith, Shavon Ruffin and LaQuita Barnes; great nephews; twelve great nieces; a special brother-in-law, Morris Duck, Sr.; devoted friends, Mary Britt, Jesse Whitehead, and Ernest Bowers; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held 2:00 PM, September 18, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1315 Rosewood Ave., Franklin, VA, the Rev. Dr. Anthony Goodwyn, Pastor, Apostle Dr. Stephanie D.
