Marilyn Balch Obituary

Marilyn Ann Balch, age 79, passed away May 19, 2012 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Marilyn was born November 24, 1932 in Three Rivers, Mich.; a daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Zellak) Boggio. Marilyn resided in the Shelby Township and Sterling Heights area for most of her life. She married Gerald Lee Balch who preceded her in death, October 20, 1993. Marilyn was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by three sons, John (Karen) of Union, Mich., Gerald of Center Line, and Jack of Center Line; sister, Jane Swartwout (Barry) of Three Rivers, Mich.; and brother, Jim Boggio (Tressa), of Luther, Mich. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road (between Maple and Big Beaver), with Rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Church, 48115 Schoenherr, Shelby Twp., MI 48315.
