Marshall Hamilton Jr. NORFOLK - Marshall Robert "Hamp" Hamilton Jr. of the 600 block of Massachusetts Ave. passed away Jan. 8, 2009. He was born Jan. 3, 1930, to the late Marshall Sr. and Iva Hamilton in Norfolk. Marshall was educated in the Norfolk public school system and attended Norfolk State College. He later served in the U.S. Army and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Norfolk. Marshall is survived by his wife, Magdelene Hamilton; three daughters, Vivian Gibson of Winston-Salem, N.C., Deborah Hamilton of Norfolk and Janet Young (Michael) of Portsmouth; his son, Marshall Hamilton III of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren, Tiffany Morrison (Robert), Marshall Gibson (Wafrika), Inglish Young, Kellyn Hamilton and Raya Young; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 934 W. Little Creek Road. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
