Mary Bailey Obituary
Mary Jane Bailey CHESAPEAKE - Mary Jane Bailey, 77, went home to the Lord on Nov. 19, 2008 after a brave battle against cancer. A native of Erial, N.J., she retired after nearly 30 years of service as child care director at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Mom was an amazing cook, avid gardner, and always welcomed others into her beautiful home. She will be remembered for her special brand of humor that kept us all laughing. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, special mentor and friend to all who knew her, and was the true nucleus of her family which was her most proudest accomplishment of all. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Edward T. Bailey; three daughters, Mary Jane Parsons of Carrolton, Nancy Lee Bailey of Chesapeake, Nina Jean Jenkins and husband Butch of Williamsburg; six grandchildren, Indreia Lucenti and husband Paul, Heather Quinn and husband Mike, William Jenkins II, Sara Beth Parsons, Seth Jenkins, and Scott Parsons; five great-grandchildren, Gabriella Quinn, Russell Owens, Mike Quinn, Jesse Quinn, and Gabriel Lambert; two brothers, Joseph and Thomas Scott, of New Jersey; two sisters, Roma McKee and Jenny Cooper of New Jersey. She leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews and very loving friends considered family: Sandra Hardison of Chesapeake, Jerry and Frances Boone and their children, Tony and Charlotte Chesney of New Jersey, Kim and Ronnie Dash of Chesapeake; and her new found Oriunno Family in Campobasso, Italy. All friends and family are welcome to celebrate the memory of Mary's life at the home of Nina Jean and Butch Jenkins in Williamsburg today beginning at 3 p.m. through the evening, 106 Southeast Trace, Williamsburg.
