Mary Gilman Obituary
Norfolk - Mary (McGrath) Gilman, 77, of Norfolk, VA passed away on November 20 after a lenghty illness. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (McGarr) McGrath Of Wakefield, MA.
She is survived by her long time companion, Anthony "Pat" Felce of Norfolk, VA, her sons William Gallagher of Overland Park, KS, Joseph Gallagher of Pepperell, MA and daughter Erin (Gallagher) and her husband James Apostolos of Alexandria, NH. She is also survived by granddaughters Kaitlin and Jacalin Gallagher of Taunton, MA.
Mary was born in Melrose, MA on January 22, 1937 and grew up in Wakefield, MA where she attended Nazareth Academy. She worked for many years in electronics including Transitron and Raytheon. She moved to Norfolk, VA in 1977 and worked for many years at Albano Cleaners.
Mary loved animals and had fond memories of her pet dogs and cats over the years. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local humane society or no-kill animal shelter.
Funeral services will be held in Massachusetts at a later date. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com

I remember Aunty Mary fondly from Malden. I remember swimming in the pool, and we got yummy snacks when we were done swimming. Another day when I was visiting, she brought me to "the beauty parlor" (as she called it) and I got a pretty new hairdo! Fond memories of Aunty Mary... I think of ponytails, kerchiefs, and sneakers when I remember Aunt Mary from my youth. I thought she was so cool for wearing her sweater backwards and tying her kerchief over her head and around her neck. So fifties, huh? I know my parents had a lot of fun times with Mary and I'm sure they are all sharing laughs together right now. My heart goes out to Billy, Joey, and Erin. So very sorry for your loss.???
