Mary Roberts

Mary T. Roberts VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Cecile Tate Roberts, born Nov. 23, 1951, a native of Mobile, Ala., but longtime resident of Virginia Beach, departed this life Jan. 12, 2009, in a local hospital. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Roberts was a faithful member of Christ the King Church prior to the onset of her illness. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence (Aline) Tate; loving sisters, Dorothy Tate Martin and Dolores Tate. She leaves to cherish her memory a husband, Richard David Roberts Jr.; three children, Richard David Roberts III, Aline Regina Roberts and Mary Anne Roberts of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Linda Chatman Shade, Rose Easterling and Felicia Tate, all of Mobile; 17 nieces and nephews; a host of great-nieces and -nephews, family and friends. Viewing will be Monday from noon to 5 p.m. at Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St., Norfolk. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m. and a funeral Mass commences at 10 a.m. at NAB, Little Creek Base Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will follow in Albert G.
