Mary Versic Obituary
Norfolk - Mary Reynolds Versic passed away peacefully on July 27, 2013 in her home. She was born in Norfolk in 1941, and was a graduate of Princess Anne High School in 1959. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Tony Versic; brother Dan Reynolds, and her father William Reynolds. She retired after 30 years of service from the Norfolk School System. Mary was a charter member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Norfolk. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with family and friends in the Outer Banks.
She is survived by her mother Stella Reynolds; son Mike and his wife Kim; son Tony and his wife Heather; grandchildren Casey, Andrew, Holly and Caden; nephew William D. Reynolds and his wife Tawnya; and nieces Carly and Paige.
The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Tuesday, July 30 in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday July 31, at 10:00am at Aldersgate UMC in Norfolk. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Aldersgate UMC. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.

I will always remember Mary for her fun loving spirit. I worked with her many years ago at Ghent Elementary School. She and Tony were such a great couple! May you always be comforted in the great legacy of love and caring she has left behind! Farewell my friend Mary until we meet somewhere in that celestrial kingdom.

I am so sad to hear about Mary. We were friends our last year at Princess Anne High School. Unfortunately, we did not stay in touch and I do regret that. She was a fine person and friend.

I am very saddened to hear of Mary's death. My husband and I started our teaching careers at Granby Elementary and became very close to her. She touched so many lives from that office desk. She pulled me aside one day and told me that she knew my parents didn't live close by and that she and Tony were here for me if I ever needed anything. That meant the world to me and I have never forgot it.
