Maryjane Mitchell Obituary
Virginia Beach - Maryjane E. Mitchell, 83, passed away on Jan. 23, 2014. She was born on April 2nd, 1930 in NY. She was a devoted employee of Montgomery Ward from an early age. Maryjane was transferred to Virginia in 1971, along with her beloved husband, Ray "Mitch" Mitchell. She retired in 1992. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, two step-daughters and many friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia Beach with Fr. Timothy Kuhneman officiating. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel is handling arrangements.

I have many fond memories of watching football games over at the Mitchell's house. They were very sweet and fun. Mrs. Mitchell always had a warm smile. That smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Maryjane and "Mitch" were neighbors and close friends of mine from 1969 until Mitch passed away, after which Maryjane and I continued our friendship. Even after I moved from Virginia Beach in 2001, we kept in contact through birthday cards and Christmas cards each year. Whenever possible, I stopped in for a visit with her when I came back to Virginia Beach from time to time. The commandment to "love thy neighbor" was easy when it came to Maryjane and Mitch. May God rest their souls.
