Michael Scutro

Michael A. Scutro VIRGINIA BEACH - Michael A. Scutro, 83, passed away on June 2, 2010. Mr. Scutro was born in New Jersey and resided most of his life in Virginia Beach. He was a true patriot who served from 1944 to 1980 with action during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Scutro; a brother, Joseph; a sister, Jean Landow; and a daughter, Karen Rae Foersterling. Survivors include a son, Joseph Charles Scutro and wife Sylvia of Coinjock, N.C.; two daughters, Sandra Michele Scutro and Jennifer Anne Scutro, both of Virginia Beach; a grandson, Jordan Joseph; and a son-in-law, Art Foersterling of Chesapeake. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a celebration of his life will be held Monday at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
