Michelle Collins Obituary

Michelle L. Collins VIRGINIA BEACH - Michelle Lynn Collins, 43, of the 5200 block Carolanne Road, passed away March 28, 2009, in a Norfolk hospital. A native of Norfolk, she was a medical secretary. She is survived by her son, Chaz Adrian Layton-Collins of Virginia Beach; her mother, Patricia Taylor of Norfolk; father, Donald Collins of Newport, Ky.; and her loving partner, Charles E. Layton and his two sons, Charles E. Layton Jr. and William Layton of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by her sister, Lana Collins of Elizabeth City, N.C.; her nephew, Tyler Smith; two nieces, Kindall Bright and Victoria Collins; and many other relatives and friends. She was a loving and dedicated mother, daughter and sister, and a loyal employee of Dr. Kenneth Albinder for ten years. A funeral will be held Thursday in the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Michelle D. Louk officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Wednesday from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the family for a college fund for her son Chaz Layton-Collins. My family and I were so sorry to hear about Michelle's death. We knew her through Dr. Albinder's office in Chesapeake. We always enjoyed seeing her when we would have an appointment. She always took time to chat with *all* of us, my children included. We will miss seeing her smiling face at the office.
