MILDRED ERWIN Obituary
Norfolk - MILDRED ERWIN, 96, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, surrounded by 3 Generations of loving family. Daughter of Henry and Mary Antietam Rymill of Boston, MA, she was preceded by 3 sisters; husband Jack Erwin and Don Thompson. She is survived by 2 children, Andrew Erwin (Melanie) and Lee Hall; 2 grandchildren, Cecil and Susanne Johnson; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mildred was very active in Girl Scouts, receiving a National Thank You Award for 75 years of dedication, and also awarded Volunteer of the Year by the City of Norfolk. She was Past President of Ladies Auxiliary Fleet Reserve Branch 60,a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, long time member of the 60 Plus Club, and Tarrallton Seniors. A Faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for over 60 years she served as Lunchroom Monitor, Girl Scout Leader, and a teacher.
Mildred was a warm, loving, and unique lady, enjoying friends and her bingo games. She will be greatly missed. The family extends their gratitude to Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion during Mildred's short illness.
Visitation will be held at Holloman-Brown Tidewater Chapel Monday, April 6th, 6-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Church Tuesday, April 7th at 11am, with reception following at the home 133 LENOX AVE, NORFOLK VA.

I was looking for an opportunity to thank Mrs Erwin when I found her obituary. She was a very kind and helpful woman and I never really took the time to properly thank her for all the things she did for me. So, a thankful farewell from the bottom of my heart and my belated condolences to her family.
Mildred has touched a lot of lives through Girl Scouts where she knew first hand what it was to build girls of courage,confidence, and character.....

My condolences to the family. My mother was friends with Ms. Erwin in girl scouts. I remember her in girl scouts and all the St Patrick's Day parades. My she rest in peace.
