Myrle Yaun Obituary
Myrle W. Yaun PENSACOLA - Myrle W. Yaun, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jan. 29, 2009. Myrle was born in Branchville, S.C., (Orangeburg County), and had resided in Pensacola since April 1985. She was a charter and active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and Hope Circle of United Methodist Women and a member of Victory Chapter No. 16, Order of Eastern Star, Chesapeake, and Past Matron. She was a past member of Branchville U.M. Church, Branchville, S.C., Asbury U.M. Church, Charleston, S.C., Cradock U.M. Church, Portsmouth, Baylake U.M. Church, Virginia Beach. She was past president of South Carolina Conference Young Adult Fellowship and an organizer of Marable Young Adult Class, Cradock U.M. Church. She was active in her community PTA and Band Parents, Scouts, Red Cross volunteer and church activities. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dove Lee and Eugenia Thompson Westbury; her husband, William Warren Yaun Sr.; two brothers, Donald and D.C. Westbury; a sister, Carrie W. Russell; daughter-in-law, Helen Tew Yaun. Myrle is survived by her son, retired Col. William Warren Yaun Jr. and wife Darla of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Joan W. Bamette, Smithfield, Va.; sisters, Elizabeth W. McInnes of Charleston, S.C., Annelle W. Rickenbaker of Orangeburg, S.C., Mildred W. Baker of Harleyville, S.C.; six grandchildren: Teresa Y. Taylor of Matthews, N.C., Sharon Y. Tiller of London, Ky., William Warren Yaun III of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Tamara R. Munford of Ivor, Va., Cynthia B. Weger of Fairfax, Va., and Thomas Bamette of Smithfield; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. On Wednesday at 11 a.m., a memorial service will be held in Branchville United Methodist Church, Branchville, S.C., followed by burial in Sardis U.M. Church Cemetery, Branchville. Ott Funeral Home, Branchville, is serving the family. A memorial service was held in St. Luke U.M. Church at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009. Rose Lawn Funeral Home served the family in Pensacola, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke U.M. Church Bldg. Fund (for a Family Center); or Coventry Hospice, Pensacola, Fla.; or Branchville U.M. Church, Branchville, SC 29432; or your favorite charity.
