Patricia Payne Obituary

Patricia M. Payne PORTSMOUTH - Patricia Mounie Payne, 73, died Nov. 17, 2010. Mrs. Payne was born in Portsmouth to the late Robert and Pearl Gardner Mounie. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed going to the Beazley Senior Center. Mrs. Payne was the widow of Edward T. Payne. Left to cherish her memory, are daughters, Cynthia Campbell of Roxboro, N.C., Teresa Young and husband Ronnie of Chesapeake, and Cathy Smith and husband Robert of Chesapeake; son, Christopher "John" Payne of Portsmouth; sisters, Carole Phillips of Chesapeake, Mary Ellen Walker of Portsmouth, and Margaret Grimes of Chesapeake; brother, Robert Mounie of Portsmouth; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Twiford Chapel, 929 Battlefield Blvd. S., Chesapeake, Saturday from 6 until 7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. After the service, friends are invited back to the residence of Teresa and Ronnie Young. The family would like to express their gratitude for the outstanding care provided by Mrs. Payne's nurse, Crystal and also Loretta and Rita.
