Raymond Barmore Obituary
Portsmouth - Raymond C. Barmore was born in New York to John Matthew Barmore and Deloris Peterkin Barmore. After attending Norfolk State University, he chose Virginia to be his home. Here, he served as a Master Barber, Minister, Loving Father of 3, an inspiration and so much more. Please join us in celebrating the life of Mr. Ray and honoring his legacy.
A Viewing will be held from 4-7pm Thursday, June 7, 2018 at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1248 N. George Washington Hwy, Chesapeake VA 23323. A Life Celebration Service will be held 11am on Friday June 8, 2018 at Grove Baptist Church, 5910 W. Norfolk Rd, Portsmouth. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.jtfisherfuneralservices.com.

Mr. Barmore I took care of you from the beginning of your dialysis. You and I had babies born right around the same time. We shared many conversations over the years. Some good, some, funny and some bad, & some where sad. You came into my mind just recently, as my granddaughters birthday was approaching. RIP go rest high on the mountain, God only calls his favorite angels early. It was a blessing to know you, it hurt my heart to see all that you endured over these past 15yrs. or so..Prayers for your family

Thanks for being a great friend to my son Marc C. Mathis. He love to have Ray cut his hair while attending Norfolk State,and when he returned to visit! Rip Ray! I am sure Marc welcomed you with opened arms! Love the mathis family!

Ray was my barber 30 years ago. We stayed in touch all those years - I witness Jesus to him and he later became a preacher. I so thankful that his suffering is over. He was a great dude! My prayers go to his family and friends. He will be missed! Antonio.

I have been his nurse for over 4 years. I know I shouldn't say it, but he was one of my favorites! I enjoyed talking and joking with him. He was a real stand up guy. He will be missed.
