Prayers and sympathies for the family.
RIP Dick. I am 75 and and cannot remember when I did not know you. My dad was a busy auto mechanic (and so was I) all our lives and we dealt with you.
Dick was one of the best people I ever knew. Always super friendly, helpful, courteous and pleasant.

Uncle Dickie was a kind, generous, funny man. He loved Aunt Isabell and Pete so much and would often talk about them during our monthly calls. He was so friendly and met and made friends easily. He helped his neighbors, he helped others who were doing good deeds -- as he was always doing something for anyone who needed it. I shall miss our talks and laughter -- he had so many good stories -- wish I could hear them all again.

I did not know Mr Johnson that well. I only knew what my Dad, Bernie Leroy Bickley, Sr told our family. Daddy worked part time for Mr Johnson at Portsmouth Auto Parts, delivering parts to car dealers or whomever called in an order. Daddy loved and admired Mr Johnson and loved working for him. He came home almost every day and told us funny stories or jokes he heard at the shop. From what I heard, Mr Johnson must've been a very nice man to work for and earned his place in Heaven. May he R.I.P.

You could have no better friend than Dick Johnson. He was a fine gentleman and a very good friend. Our deepest condolences to his family.

My Mother was one of his older sisters and he told me once he considered her a mother figure. We used to visit he and Aunt Isabelle frequently. One time we went to visit and unbeknownst to my mother he had hidden a tape recorder under the couch and said something to Mom that he knew would get her dander up. My mom didn't hold her tongue when something needed saying and she went off on a rant. He pulled that tape recorder out frim under her seat and had the biggest laugh. We laughed a lot with our uncles, miss them all.

Had the pleasure of knowing Dickie since 1968. Worked with him part time at the store and picked up parts from the Norfolk warehouses for him almost everyday on my way home from work.
He, Doug Johnson, Bill Ketchum and I had lunch together a few months ago and was really great to see him after many years. He will be missed by many. My best to all his family, You're in my prayers.
