I think back to those high school days and Mr. Halterman was a teacher to remember! A teacher in a generation of teachers we didn't know to appreciate so much at the time. Looking back tho, we know that there were things learned, not just from our books and class lessons, but more than that, we learned how to live life. Yep, life lessons that weren't taught, they were just lived and passed on to us. Thanks Mr Halterman for being in that army of men and women helping to shape me into who I am today. RIP

Mr. Halterman was one of the best teachers ever. He not only taught me to love Literature but how to be accountable, prepared and on time. Practices I carry with me today. GOD Bless this wonderful soul.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Halterman's passing. He was the kind of teacher that made an everlasting impression on you. I may not remember anything about Beowulf, but I remember Mr. Halterman's wit and dry sense of humor. Sending love and good memories to all who knew him.

So sorry to hear the passing of Mr. Halterman. He was a fantastic teacher. He took a subject that I had little interest and taught me to understand, respect and appreciate it. He treated everyone with such respect and was a true gentleman. I looked forward to attending his class each day. Mr. Halterman was an example to all of us. He had such a positive impact on me that I've never forgotten nor will I ever forget him. Prayers and thoughts to his family and friends. We have lost a great one to be cherished.

Mr. Halterman was my 11th grade in English teacher in 1988, to this day I credit him knowing how to write a research paper and getting me through The Pilgrims Progress.

He was a special friend to me. I had just talked to him a couple of weeks ago. He was a great teacher but also put up with me and my antics. He helped prepare me for college. I was honored to be a groomsman when he and Norma got married. He loved Great Bridge High School and it´s students. He coached tennis and was involved in many activities. He worked with students one on one to help them learn and pass his and other teacher´s courses. He was a special man and friend and I will truly miss him.

Sorry for your loss. He was absolutely my favorite teacher. He made class fun. He came to our dances at GBJH and asked me to dance. As a student it made my night. He could fast dance so well! I´ll never forget him and how he touched my life!
