Robert Baker Crafford

Robert Baker Crafford, 91, of Portsmouth went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late John and Ella Crafford. Robert, also known as "Moose", was a U.S Army Veteran and a Portsmouth Fire Fighter for 32 years . He was a member of Living Waters Christian Fellowship. Robert was also a member of the Round Hill Hunt Club and the Boykin Hunt Club. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy G. Crafford of 63 years; daughter Carolyn Crafford Cobb; two sisters, Helen Barnes and Georgia Crafford; three brothers, John Crafford, Jr., Charles Crafford, and Billy Crafford, Sr.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Mark B. Crafford, Scott London; a daughter, Tammy Crafford Sprinkle and husband Wayne; a son-in-law, Derwood O. Cobb II; five grandchildren, Ashley Hare and husband Greg, Gregory V. Hill, III "Trey" and wife Kaitlyn, Derwood O. Cobb, III "Dylan", Olivia Cobb and Laura Cobb; three great grandchildren, Gia Hare, Gemma Hare, and Gregory V. Hill, IV "Finn"; and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 29, 2022, at Living Waters Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Thursday from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Waters Christian Fellowship and/or Churchland Assembly of God.
