Robert Woods Obituary
A native of Portsmouth, Rob was born on December 9, 1964 to R. John Woods, Jr. and Fay L. Woods. Rob leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Rohini Murthy Woods; three daughters, Kanchan Woods, Kiran Woods, and Chaya Woods; father, R. John Woods, Jr. and wife Donna; mother, Fay L. Woods; sister, Wyndy Woods; two brothers, his twin, Ronnie Woods, and Kevin Woods and wife Christy; parents-in-law, Dr. Yelameli and Suguna Murthy; sister-in-law, Roopa Murthy and fiancée John Wilkins; brother-in-law Ramesh Murthy and wife Jessica, and their three children, Nalan, Wynn and Mirabelle; nieces, Brittany, Lindsay, Sophia and Claudia; nephew Carter; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rob was the owner of Drug Center Pharmacy Midtown in Portsmouth VA for more than 20 years. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy in 1988 and from Nansemond Suffolk Academy in 1983.
Above all else, Rob cherished his family. Spending time with his wife and children and with close family, as well as extended family and friends alike, brought him great joy. He enjoyed golfing, boating, traveling, relaxing at the Outer Banks, and cheering on the Washington Redskins. He was proud to be an American and was an enthusiastic advocate of making America great again! Always up for an adventure, Rob was known to touch the skies with the occasional sky dive, bungee jump, and especially riding rollercoasters with his daughters. Rob is greatly missed. We cherish our memories of him and will miss being with him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 14, at 3:30 PM in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd Chapel, with a reception following the service at the Riverfront Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nansemond Suffolk Academy in memory of Rob Woods. www.SturtevantFH.com

Rob and I shared many similarities in our acquaintance. We graduated around the same time. Married around the same time. Birthed children around the same time. Took it one day at a time around the same time. So quickly life reminds us to slow down and enjoy all it has to offer. My best to all who were touched by this amazing man

I'm so very very sorry for your lose. I haven't seen Robbie in years. My only memories of Robbie was in his early teens funny full of life great kid to be around. My Prayers are for you guys. I'll remember him always with a smile.

To the entire Woods family. I was greatly saddened and shocked to read of Rob´s passing . I am saddened to the core and send my deepest condolences to all who loved this amazing man. I knew Robbie from Deep Creek in our youthful days and last spoke with him several years ago at a dental practice I was working in. He shined with pride telling me about his wife and daughters the true loves of his life. To Ronnie his twin. I almost don´t know how to express the sadness I feel for your grief. Your twin bond as brothers growing up was beautiful. You could almost never mention one of them without the other in conversation. I am praying for all of you as you navigate through tremendous loss.
