Roscoe William Graham

Roscoe William Graham, 94, of Norfolk, VA, went to heaven on Friday, December 28, 2018.

Born in Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Graham and Jennie Rosebud West Graham. He is survived by his special childhood sweetheart and wife of 74 years, Betty; two sons, Larry of Suffolk and Bill of Norfolk; and his grandson, Matt and his wife, Fallon, and their daughter, Lyanna of Chesapeake.

He had retired from the Southern Railroad as a rate clerk in 1985 after beginning at 17 years of age with the Virginian Railroad. Roscoe and Betty were married on October 22, 1944, at Zion Methodist Church. He along with Betty, have been members of Third Presbyterian Church in Norfolk since 1954. During this time he has held numerous spiritual leadership positions in the church. He also this year was presented with his 70th anniversary pin as a Mason in Owens Lodge 64.

His life and way of life touched many people through the years creating an extending eclectic family of all ages. In the words of his grandson, Matt, "Pop pop words can't describe how lucky we are because of you being in our lives and being an amazing grandfather....I hope you are smiling in heaven but we are so sad to see you leave this earth."

Service will be conducted at Third Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Rosewood Memorial Park followed by a gathering at the social hall of Third Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Third Presbyterian Church.
