Ruby Boone Obituary

Ruby Evans Boone NORFOLK - Mrs. Ruby Evans Boone, 92, of Norfolk and formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Mrs. Boone was born Sept. 28, 1917 in Warren County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late T.R. Evans and Bessie Morris Evans. She was also predeceased by her husband, Robert Boone; a brother, Willie Gray Evans; two sisters, Virginia Weaver and Mildred Carter; and also a great-granddaughter, Alexia Thompson. Mrs. Boone was a registered nurse and was a graduate of the Roanoke Rapids School of Nursing. She was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church in Norfolk. Survivors include her daughter, Faye B. Curl and her husband David of Norfolk; her son, Robert T. Boone and his wife Jennifer of Littleton, N.C.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Emerson and her husband B.J., Jennifer Thompson, James Boone, Aaron Boone; four great-grandchildren, Michelle Stafford, Cody Thompson, Max Thompson, and Jordan Emerson. Graveside services will be held today, April 17, at 2 p.m. in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Littleton, N.C. The family received friends at Massey Funeral Home, 839 Jackson St., Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Friday, April 16, 2010.
