Ruby Richard Jaynes SUFFOLK - Ruby Richard Jaynes, 88, of the 1500 block of Governor's Wharf, died Nov. 28, 2009. A native of Cherokee, N.C., and a longtime resident of Winston- Salem, N.C., she was predeceased by her husband, Sherman Baxter Jaynes and a son, Dennis R. Jaynes. Survivors include a daughter, Anita Jaynes Pond of Suffolk; a son, Baxter Jaynes of Morganton, N.C.; four sisters, Betty Sain of Henry County, North Carolina, and Essie Jane Webb, Edith Wilson and MaryLou Crafton, all of Hickory, N.C.; three grandchildren, Teri Volpe, Chuck Pond and Paul Pond; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, today, Nov. 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday in Winston- Salem, N.C. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
