Ruby Patterson Obituary
Virginia Beach - In loving memory of Ruby Patterson, 79, went home with the Lord on September 12, 2016.
Born February 5, 1937, in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Edna Smith. Ruby goes home to meet her mom and dad; her brother, CJ, Charlie, and Leroy; sisters, Evelyn and Rose; and her husband, Carl.
Ruby worked very hard all of her life. She was a giving person and a benefit to others in there time of need. She was always comforted knowing her daughter, Donna, was always by her side and always there to help her. Ruby will be missed for the strong independent person that she was.
Ruby leaves behind, her loving daughter, Donna Edna Johnson; son-in-law, Raymond A. Johnson, Sr.; grandchildren, Ashley M. Johnson, Donnell S. Johnson, and Raymond A. Johnson, Jr.; great granddaughter, Grace Rose Johnson; her loving sister, Gail (Prevost) Harley; and a large number of relatives who will miss her: Leslie, Farley, Hugh, Lorie, Little Louie, as well as family and friends.
Life always shows us that it's all about how you lived your life and the good you've done for others that you will always be remembered for.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
