Ruth Elizabeth Burns VIRGINIA BEACH - Ruth Elizabeth Burns, 75, of the 4600 block of Fern Oak Court, passed away Feb. 23, 2009, at her residence. She was predeceased by a sister, Golden Jones. She is survived by her husband, Patrick L. Burns Sr.; three daughters, Viola B. Jackson, Alicia Jenkins and Evita Burns Staton; one son, Patrick L. Burns Jr.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave. The Rev. Alvin J. Boone Sr. will officiate. Family and friends will assemble at 4605 Fern Oak Court one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel.
