Among my cherished possessions and proudly displayed in my memory cabinet is a small pottery mug with a little girl playing in the sand, and, bearing the name "Ellen"...the mug was thrown for me by Mrs. Phillips when I was a child and next door neighbor of the Phillips family in Tappahannock, VA...I well remember Steve, Alex, and, Allene as delightful childhood friends...we use to play all kinds of outdoor games such as "kick the can", etc...I also remember visiting the family in Franklin after they moved there...as I often remembered the family, I welcome the opportunity, although sad, to send my sympathy to the family, and, offer a "thanks for the childhood memories" to Allene, Steve, and Alex...Ellen Walters, Virginia Beach, VA...
