Steven Scott Anderson

1954 - 2021

Steven Scott Anderson, 67, went peacefully to the Lord on December 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at Virginia Beach General Hospital. Steve was born on September 24, 1954. He came to Norfolk at an early age and built his life from the ground up; he truly was a self-made man. 

Steve worked hard to achieve his success, not for himself but for those he cared about. He possessed unwavering loyalty to those he loved, including his often-hopeless Cleveland Browns. Steve spent his career with the Chesapeake Rim and Wheel family, rising through the ranks to Vice President of Heavy Duty Sales. In 1977, Steve met the love of his life, Billie Anderson, and three years later managed to sweet talk her into standing by his side for 41 years. After leaving Norfolk, Steve and Billie moved to Chesapeake, where they raised their three children. Steve was a devoted family man, a true Clark Griswold, although he nearly fainted when he found out he and Billie were expecting twins. He most often showed his love through cooking big batches of his secret recipes for spaghetti sauce or NC-style barbeque.   

Steve is cherished in memory by his loving wife, Billie, his three children, Scott (Brier), Doris (Robbie), and Josh, and Doris and Bill Bennett. He had three beloved grandbabies June and Charlotte, and soon to be baby Jack.   

A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Chapel Virginia Beach at 5228 Indian River Road on Saturday, December 18th, at 3 pm. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's honor to Calvary Chapel Virginia Beach care of Pastor Thomas Powell in support of local foster families.
