Valarie Edwards Obituary

Valarie Joy Edwards SUFFOLK - Valarie Joy Edwards, 55, of the 6700 block of Burbage Landing Circle, died Aug. 27, 2010 in her residence. She was a teacher at John Tyler Elementary School with more than 22 years of service. Born in Norfolk County, she was a member of Holy Light Church of Deliverance, Portsmouth. She was a former Sunday school teacher, church school vacation Bible school and Crusade Choir member. She was a member of the Virginia Education Association and Portsmouth Education Association. Valarie was predeceased by her father, Earnest Edwards. She is survived by her mother, Doris J. Terry; cousins in Suffolk, Alexandria, Va., and Baltimore; special friends, Robert and Genevieve Lowery, Suffolk; prayer partner, Dr. Sandy Hutchingson; co-workers and friends. A funeral will be today at 11 a.m. in Holy Light Church of Deliverance with the Bishop S.L. Carruth officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. I would like to send my condolences to the family of Ms. Valerie Edwards. I will always remember the encouraging words that she gave me. She was a very vaulable part of the Kindergarten team of John Tyler. She will be truly missed!!!!!! Be blessed family!
